01 / What it is

Your team's own mobile network, in the field.

Private LTE/5G brings a mobile access network into a defined operational area for compatible phones, tablets and gateways. Meridian Private LTE/5G is our system for connecting that access network with the team's maps, radio links, UAV control and video services.

The network equipment, local services, power and external connectivity are designed around the location and the equipment you use.

Connect field teams

Plan access for compatible phones, tablets and gateways.

Share the situation

Bring team positions and map context into SpectreTAK.

Bring video to the team

Plan UAV video viewing and distribution over suitable links.

02 / What it connects

From field equipment to shared information.

SYSTEM CONNECTION PATHS

The equipment you use

  • Phones & tablets

    Compatible LTE/5G devices and gateways

  • MANET radios

A suitable IP interface or gateway

  • UAV control & video

Compatible control gateway and IP video equipment

Meridian Private LTE/5G

PRIVATE LTE / 5G

The information your team shares

  • SpectreTAK maps

Team positions and shared situational awareness

  • Video viewing

Configured UAV video ingest and distribution

  • Local services

    Applications selected for the operation

MANET needs a compatible IP interface or gateway. Video quality and capacity depend on the chosen receiver, encoder and network path. UAV control also requires a compatible ground station, autopilot and communication gateway. These connections will be evaluated with the project's equipment.

03 / UAV Control

UAV Control over LTE/5G

A two-way connection between the ground control station and a compatible UAV over Meridian Private LTE/5G. Send control commands and receive flight telemetry, with video carried over a configured IP path.

TWO-WAY CONTROL PATH
  1. Ground control station

    Operator commands and flight monitoring

  2. Meridian Private LTE/5G

    Configured IP network path

  3. Compatible UAV

    Communication gateway + autopilot

Control commands

Exchange control commands between the ground station and a supported autopilot through the configured network.

Flight telemetry

Return position, battery and flight status when supported by the UAV.

Live video

Plan video viewing alongside control and flight telemetry.

Ground station, autopilot, LTE/5G equipment, network performance and behaviour when the link is lost must be defined and evaluated together for each project before flight use.

04 / Where it fits

One network. Two field needs.

TACTICAL

A shared picture for field teams.

Plan connectivity between a command post and field teams, with SpectreTAK maps and UAV observation video in the same coordination workflow.

  • Command post and field teams
  • Positions and shared maps
  • UAV observation video

DISASTER RESPONSE

Connect the response, where it is needed.

Plan a temporary network for rescue teams and incident coordination in areas with limited or disrupted connectivity.

  • Temporary incident coordination
  • Rescue team information
  • UAV area assessment

Frequently asked questions.

What does “Private LTE/5G” mean?

A mobile network built for a defined organisation or operational area, with compatible devices and configured access. Its equipment and services are planned for that deployment.

What does the Meridian system include?

The system comprises a Core Network, SIM cards, Nano/Micro Cellsite equipment and Internet Backhaul. Equipment models, specifications and quantities are selected to suit the customer’s operational area and project requirements.

Which services can operate without an Internet connection?

The project design must specify which services run within the local network and which depend on external connections. Discuss local SpectreTAK, UAV control and video requirements with the team, then define and test their behaviour when Internet Backhaul is unavailable as part of the project scope.

How do LTE/5G, MANET radios and UAV video work together?

Plan a connection between the private LTE/5G network and MANET radios through a suitable IP interface or gateway. UAV video needs a compatible receiver or encoder and a configured network path. These connections are defined and evaluated with the equipment selected for the project.

How many users and simultaneous video streams can Meridian support?

User capacity and Video Streaming capacity depend on the specifications selected by the customer. The Core Network, Nano/Micro Cellsite, Internet Backhaul capacity and video settings are scoped around the required number of users and streams, with performance evaluated for that configuration.

What power supply is needed, and how long does installation take?

Power requirements and installation time depend on the selected equipment, number of cellsites, operating area and availability of Internet Backhaul. Provide the site conditions and available power supply so the team can define the installation plan and schedule for the project.

Which UAV control functions are supported, and what happens if the link is lost?

Control functions depend on the selected ground control station, autopilot and communication gateway. Define the required commands, flight telemetry, video and behaviour on connection loss with the team, then evaluate them with the project’s equipment before flight use.

What is the current product status?

Meridian Private LTE/5G is available for order. Contact us to select the system specifications and request a quote. Equipment, installation scope and delivery schedule are agreed for each project. User and Video Streaming capacity depend on the specifications selected by the customer.
